Azure App Service deployment: fails to configure jsreport authentication

I successfully deployed jsreport in our Azure tenant. I created a resource group which includes an App Service plan and an App Service for jsreport. The app launches fine. Then I followed instructions to configure authentication included in the documentation. After I re-start the app, I don't see the login screen as explained in the documentation. I appears that the changes implemented in the "Application Settings" section do not take effect.

extensions_authentication_admin_username=admin
