Huge final result size

Hello,
we are noticing that all our reports have an huge size when generated.For instance, a report of 16 pages has a size of 7MB and a 34 pages translate to 16MB.
The report has almost no images and their size is few MB. Basic compression tools that we can find online, independently from the quality of the compression produce results at least 70% smaller without big differences.
I've seen this old bug from the Chrome Bug tracker: https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=103602
Could that be the cause?I've seen that disabling page merging or pdf-utils in general doesn't have any effect.
