Buying a license
-
Hi, I’m working with a company and we’ve been using the JSReport playground at the moment and love it.
Now we’re planning to buy the enterprise license (one time). However, there are a few question that I would like to know.
- What does it mean by “dev instances for free *” and what does the “royalty-free” mean in enterprise scale license?
- What does it mean by “updates included for 6 months”?
Does this mean that we can only get the updates for just 6 months?
Thanks,
AziziAziz

Thank you for your interest in jsreport.
What does it mean by “dev instances for free *” and what does the “royalty-free” mean in enterprise scale license?
jsreport enterprise license provides you one license key you should deploy to only one production server, but you can use the same license key on your development machines without limit.
In case you want to deploy to many production servers, you typically want to purchase the jsreport enterprise-scale license which can be deployed to infinite amount of servers.
The royalty-free means you can embed jsreport to your solution and deploy it to your end customers.
What does it mean by “updates included for 6 months”?
Does this mean that we can only get the updates for just 6 months?Yes, you will be able to update jsreport only to the versions released during the next 6 months after the purchase. In case you want constant updates, you should look at the subscription model.

Thank you so much for your reply.
However, there are few more question from my supervisor regarding the licensing.
Below are the questions:- Are updates for new functionalities?
- What if after 6 months we discovered a bug. Will we be able to receive bug fixes updates after 6 months for perpetual license?
- How would the pricing work – if we start off with Enterprise Scale One-Time & then later on decide to go on to Yearly?
- How would pricing work – if we start with Enterprise One-time & then later upgrade to Enterprise Scale One-Time?
Thanks!

You can find here the releases history https://github.com/jsreport/jsreport/releases

Unfortunately no, the 6 months are strict to receive updates. Typically enough to develop and stabilize the solution.
However, we typically provide a 25% discount to purchase another 6 months if you get to that need. How would the pricing work – if we start off with Enterprise Scale One-Time & then, later on, decide to go on to Yearly?
The support can associate your new subscription with the old license key.
We can refund you the original payment if you decide quickly during the 6 months. How would pricing work – if we start with Enterprise One-time & then later upgrade to Enterprise Scale One-Time?
