  I' m glad you like what we do.

  The opts.fn evaluate handlebars inside the block helper and returns a string. The opts.inverse does the same, but for the block you put into the {{else}} section.

  Your solution looks good, you can even go just with
  innerhtml: opts.fn(this)

  No. It just removes some transparency things to make the output compatible with pdf archive standard. So that won't help

  I discovered the problem on our old production server with jsreport 2.11.

  I see, v2 doesn't do anything with the colors. It's the output from chrome. I've never noticed this problem. Try to isolate the problem. Put just the image to a template, does it produce bad output? Try it locally. The same?

  You can do whatever you want in the beforeRender. Like login to azure blob storage, download required images, convert to the base64 form and provide it to the req.data so template can set image src through handlebars.

  The reports aren't running likely, just the profile information wasn't updated.
  This can happen when the process is stopped forcibly and running reports don't get updated. We will add some logic to clean such profiles. https://github.com/jsreport/jsreport/issues/1006

  Now you can just ignore such old profiles because they get rolled out anyway shortly. jsreport keeps just 1000 last profiles by default.
