  If you find some spare time, it would be great to reference a full configuration file with all possible options, as for now information is scatterred here and there and some are missing. (Expanding this page would be awesome : https://jsreport.net/learn/configuration)

  the https://jsreport.net/learn/configuration page describes the configuration format, not the request input options which is what you were asking here, however if you can be specific about what can be added or what is missing in configurations docs, then all suggestions are welcome.

  right now we try to put the general configuration in that page, and configuration for specific extensions are in the page of each extension (for example here is a link to an extension docs where it has a section for describing configuration), but remember that the configuration described there is different than request input options

  Thanks, logs are working now.

  And I finally get everything working, I put the initialization in Startup.cs, as a WebServer, and it seems to work without issue.

  Yes, creating package.json in current folder should help. Otherwise npm installs to the top node_modules if that is found.

  Does the error "Can't read a closed stream" come from your reading? Isn't it thrown afterwards?
  I guess that it is thrown afterwards and it is because you read and close the stream, but the middleware tries to read it after the OnAfterRender is finished.
  You can try to set to the r.Content the stream you actually want to return back to the response.

  FYI there is no active development or maintenance in jsreport.Embedded, but feel free to fork it.

  Can you describe your peformance issues?
  Changing phantomjs strategy can help you to improve the performance only by hundreds of milliseconds.
  If your rendering takes lets say 20 seconds. This won't be the solution anyway.

  Assets extension just loads file and applies a transformation like base64 encoding.
  You can easily do the same without it, just by hand.

  first you need to make sure in which application pool your app in running, to do that select your app and do a right click to find the advanced settings options.

  you will find the application pool that you app is using there (for my case, it is DefaultAppPool)

  close that option window and then find your application pool in the "Application Pools" option and select Advanced settings.

  in there, find the Identity option and select "LocalSystem"

  Yes, you should reuse the rs in your case and call only rs.RenderByNameAsync when it is required to render something.

  If it is still slow, you can try this.

  For those who come after, this answer is in another forum post, but it took me a while to find it. If you run npm install jsreport-wkhtmltopdf in your jsreport folder and get no node_modules directory and a short error that looks similar to this:

  then my problem was that the path to the VS project was too long. Moving it up to something short like d:\my-vs-projects\ and running it gave the Done! wkhtmltopddf binary available at vendor\whktmltopdf.exe and a big long tree display of installed packages, and the node_modules directory with stuff in it.

  Is should be consistent on different windows machines. The node is anyway compiled in the jsreport.Local so it cannot have an impact.
